Texada

$25.00

16” x 20”; Texada; 2012

(Available in print only.)

In 2012, I got to spend 6 months living out my dream of becoming a hermit in the woods while living on Texada Island in British Columbia, Canada, in a treehouse-style cabin on the Pacific Ocean with my husband. I spent my days painting at the kitchen window overlooking the ocean with the mountains on Vancouver Island in the distance, eagles soaring overhead, and birds perched on the tree branches peeking in at me. Every evening, I watched the sun set over the mountains in the distance, the last rays of light dancing on the water and brilliant colors streaking across the sky. This is the spot I go to in my head when I need a moment of solace, and I will forever treasure the memories of time spent painting by the ocean.
