Big Loop Trail
11” x 14”; Acrylic on board; 2012
When we lived on Texada, my husband and I had a favorite trail in our favorite woods: “The Big Loop Trail”. We’d take our two dogs with us, Bella and Blu, and they would run ecstatically in front of us on the trail, blazing the way. The trail wound through the beautiful forest, past the huge redwood we dubbed “The Grandpa Tree”, and down to the beach, where we would look for whales and listen to the sea lions honk while they played and jostled for positions on the rocks. Sometimes Bella would jump in the water to try to play with them, though they always swam away before she got to them, much to her dismay, and Blu would wait for her at the edge of the water wagging his tail in pure delight. I’d watch her from the shore, balancing on the huge logs that washed ashore and looking for sea glass among the pebbles. In those moments, I felt like a child again, full of wonder at the world around me.
“Big Loop Trail” is painted on canvas board and fits into a standard 11” X 14” frame; frame not included.
